SARAH SUMNER

Sarah Sumner, MBA, Ph.D. is the President of Right On Mission, a formational Christian ministry that helps individual believers, leaders, and governance boards clarify identity, discern faithful direction, and develop the judgment required to remain on mission long-term—even under pressure and opposition.

As a professor, she has lectured at more than thirty-five colleges and universities, and has delivered invited presentations at the George Bush White House and the United States Pentagon, and appeared on national television, including CBS and PAX-TV’s Faith on Fire (formerly hosted by Lee Strobel).

Dr. Sumner is the author of four books on Christian leadership, theology, and moral formation, along with numerous articles for theological dictionaries and Christian publications, including Christianity Today.

Before founding and leading Right On Mission, Dr. Sumner served as:

  • Dean of A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary, Simpson University (Redding, California)

  • Chair of the Graduate Ministry Department, Azusa Pacific University

  • Evangelist on staff, Willow Creek Community Church (South Barrington, Illinois)

Earlier in her career, she traveled nationally with InterVarsity Press as a National Sales Representative, exceeding quota on every sales trip—and served as narrator for their sales films distributed nationwide and throughout Canada.
